What is better for getting rid of pimples, salicylic acid products or benzoyl peroxide products?

Is one better for white heads and one for blackheads, or do they both work the same? Please help me clear this up.What is better for getting rid of pimples, salicylic acid products or benzoyl peroxide products?
depends..

for a lot of people benzoyl peroxide dried their faces out.. yes it gets rid of the pimples.. but it sometimes feels as if it burns your face.. this is what pro active contains and after using it my face would be very dry and irritated..

salicylic acid didn't do that to me.. so i prefer it.. and it's great for blackheads.. aspirin and st. ives apricot srub contain this..

with either one though just make sure to follow with a good moisturizer..What is better for getting rid of pimples, salicylic acid products or benzoyl peroxide products?
i have oily/acne prone skin so what works best for me is salicylic acid. I use St. Ives apricot cleanser and ti works so good, i noticed my skin got clearier and my skin just feels smooth and clean.
Use a plain old cheap over the counter bar soap with an antibacterial in it like Dial etc. As long as it has an antibacterial in it it works.
Peroxide is probably more effective, although it can sting. Pimples are basically tiny abscesses. Salicylic acid is basically aspirin - it may reduce swelling and discomfort but doesn't kill the bacteria.
